In September of 2007 Carl and I started holding meetings in our home for the sole purpose of making space for the Lord to meet with us. Since we were still travelling extensively at that time, we met sporadically when we were in town. Soon we moved to a friend’s home as we outgrew our living room.

Before long we moved to a store front near Opryland Northeast of Nashville and met there twice month for another 2 years.

As of January, 2013 we felt the Lord was calling us to make The Well a full-time priority and to meet every week. At the same time, He told us it would not look like the typical church paradigm. For this season we were not to meet on Sundays or Wednesday nights but on Tuesday evenings. He always has a plan in mind and this is “why” He instructed us in such a way. So we live in obedience. With growth and the passing of time NOW the Lord has opened up a new territory and time for us. North of the city AND Sunday and Wednesday meetings.

The Well is available for those who are:

1) Looking for a consistent gathering of Christian believers who need a weekly church home.

2) Already established in a home church but want to experience the deeper things of the Spirit through worship, the Word and prayer …..and are available to only come occasionally.

3) Travelling on weekends and can not consistently be a part of a fellowship of believers due to their work schedules …like musicians and artists.

4) Travelling through Nashville on business or pleasure and need a place to meet with the Lord during the week.

5) Pastors and other leaders who need a fresh filling or personal inspiration from the Spirit.

We also felt the Lord compel us to move from central Nashville to the north side in Goodlettsville. Miraculously the door opened for us to begin meeting at the Goodlettsville Plaza, just off of 65N. at Rivergate Parkway. Details here: – thewellofnashville.com/directions

Every Wednesday @ 7pm AND Sundays @ 10:30am.

Every meeting is uniquely different because our only agenda is to have a personal encounter with Jesus.

John 4:13-14 Jesus answered, “Those who drink this water will get thirsty again, 14 but those who drink the water that I will give them will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give them will become in them a spring which will provide them with life-giving water and give them eternal life.”

Everyone is welcome – no age limits – no dress codes. Come hungry and thirsty and you will be filled.

Wednesday afternoon – I was a bit troubled that I still had no particular “leading” for the service that night. It seemed like nothing was stirring in my spirit. Feeling overwhelmed with physical tiredness, I decided to lie down on the couch as Carl and I prayed. Within a few minutes, this word began to flow out of me and infused energy began to fill my body. This is what the Lord said to me regarding the people of the Well and our journey as a church.

I have placed in your “Tribe” generals of the faith. Each life has matured “into” me at a great cost.

Tell the people this: There is no price that can equate your worth. You are priceless in the Kingdom of heaven! Your worth is beyond measure. The weight of my values and things that are important to me, rest deeply in your spirits. I honor you for your faithfulness…. for being “hard” after me…for not giving up…for standing with me even when nothing made sense. Nothing is ever wasted because every step of your journey is redeemed by me. You have only good to gain. Evil has no power or future in your life.

I have called you into Sonship…to be a light…to be a powerful force…. to be Me in the earth. To release the kingdom of heaven into the earth. You are the gateway by which I choose to enter. You are my chosen ones. You are those whose sole intent and delight is to follow me…. to embrace my ways and to speak my truth in love.

Your calling isn’t popular right now. To walk in Sonship wasn’t popular even when I walked the face of the earth…. and I was the Son. The spirits of darkness hated me too. You have accepted the calling to walk as I walked, talk as I talked, and do what the Father shows you to do. Everywhere I went I released the good news…. As the life, the truth and the way, I made a way for intimate relationship with the Father, Me and Holy Spirit. The enemy wants to distort, disrupt, and distract you from the knowledge of who you are IN me. …. And who I AM in you. The I AM is in you.

The Well is ahead of “THE times”. However, it is not ahead of God’s time. It does not move in step with normal church trends, however, it is perfectly instep with the Father.

I know The Well is not “trending” like social media events. It’s easy to rise on the flurry of growth…. being carried along with the appearance of success. You can be sure that not all of those “successes” are of my Kingdom. My successes cannot measured according to the value system of this world.

You are like a ship sailing in the ocean of My mysteries. You are the bow of the ship. If you will look at the bow of any ship, it is a narrow place. Don’t worry about the size of your “bow”. The bow is the first part of the ship that separates the water in an ocean voyage. Once it parts the waters, the rest of the boat can easily follow. It’s the same in the spirit. By your obedience to me, you are creating a wake in which many will follow.

There is also much pressure at the front of a ship. It meets the resistance of the force of the water beneath it. But a sea worthy vessel is fortified at the front of the ship. It was made to meet that challenge with strength…. even in the midst of storms and gale force winds, the ship stays steady.

SO …. stay steady. Do not be discouraged.

Deuteronomy 31:8 (Amplified Bible) It is the Lord Who goes before you; He will march with you; He will not fail you or let you go or forsake you; let there be no cowardice or flinching, but fear not, neither become broken in spirit–depressed, dismayed, and unnerved with alarm.

“14 And if Christ has not been raised, then all our preaching is useless, and your faith is useless. 15 And we apostles would all be lying about God—for we have said that God raised Christ from the grave. But that can’t be true if there is no resurrection of the dead. 16 And if there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ has not been raised. 17 And if Christ has not been raised, then your faith is useless and you are still guilty of your sins. 18 In that case, all who have died believing in Christ are lost! 19 And if our hope in Christ is only for this life, we are more to be pitied than anyone in the world.”

So there it is… Paul said it best. If the resurrection is a fable, a nice store, a metaphor… etc. then it is really meaningless and we are wasting our time. Just to live a good life because Jesus was like other great thinkers or gurus is very empty. BUT, if it is all true, and I believe IT IS, then it is of paramount importance to all people. And vital that they hear the story, receive it, and believe it. This is why the “church,” all true believers in Jesus, even exist. God is calling out to all humanity to draw them to Himself. And we are part of that great commission.

I won’t try to unpack all the theology here. You can research the web for days and find tons of information if you’re curious. I will recommend one particular site for brilliant and detailed christian apologetics. – www.reasonablefaith.org — Dr. William Craig has been one of my favorite christian thinkers, philosophers, and apologists for years. He can debate anyone on the issues of faith with kindness, calmness, and great accuracy. He can also be very detailed and overwhelming with information… but maybe that’s just me. Anyway… in this season of celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ here’s one article/ discussion that will encourage your faith and maybe answer some very deep questions. I often challenge skeptics to look deeper into the actual research rather than get caught up in the banter of the uninformed or the angry atheist. Manuscript Evidence. There are way more copies of the biblical manuscripts, with remarkable consistency between them, than there are for any of the classics like Plato, Aristotle and Socrates. “There is no body of ancient literature in the world which enjoys such a wealth of good textual attestation as the New Testament.” F.F. Archaeological Evidence. Again and again archaeological discoveries have verified the accuracy of the historical and cultural references in the Bible. Corroborating Accounts. There are plenty of references in non-biblical sources to the events described in the Bible. The Jewish historian Josephus, born in 37 AD, “provide(s) indispensable background material for the student of…New Testament history. In them, we meet many figures well known to us from the New Testament. Some of his writings provide direct commentary on New Testament references.” J.D. Douglas, ed., The New Bible Dictionary.

Literary Consistency. The Bible contains 66 books written over 1,500 years by 40 different writers but it tells one “big story” of God’s plan of salvation that culminated in Jesus Christ. You can’t even pass a secret around a circle of 12 people and get the same message at the end. “There is indeed a wide variety of human authors and themes (in the Bible). Yet behind these…there lies a single divine author with a single unifying theme.” John R.W. Stott, Understanding the Bible.

Prophetic Consistency. There are over 300 specific prophecies in the Old Testament that are fulfilled in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ in the New Testament. “The very dimension of the sheer fulfillment of prophecy of the Old Testament Scriptures should be enough to convince anyone that we are dealing with a supernatural piece of literature….God has himself planted within the scriptures an internal consistency that bears witness that this is his Word.” R.C. Sproul, Now That’s a Good Question.

Expert Scrutiny. The early church had extremely high standards for what books were judged to be authentic and therefore included in the Bible. A book had to have been written by an Apostle or someone in their immediate circle, had to conform to basic Christian faith and had to be in widespread use among many churches. This was a careful process of “the people of God in many different places, coming to recognize what other believers elsewhere found to be true”; these writings were truly God’s word. G.J. Wenham, J.A. Motyer, D.A. Carson and R.T. France, The New Bible Commentary.

Leader Acceptance. A majority of the greatest leaders and thinkers in history have affirmed the truth and impact of the Bible. “I believe the Bible is the best gift God has ever given man. All the good from the Savior of the world is communicated to us through this book. But for it we could not know right from wrong.” Abraham Lincoln.

Global Influence. The Bible has had a greater influence on the laws, art, ethics, music and literature of world civilization than any other book in history. Can you think of one that even comes close? “Christianity”, as set forth in the Bible “is responsible for a disproportionately large number of the humanitarian advances in the history of civilization—in education, medicine, law, the fine arts, working for human rights and even in the natural sciences….” Craig L. Blomberg, in Christian Apologetics: A Comprehensive Case for Biblical Faith.

Changed Lives. From St. Augustine to Martin Luther to Joni Eareckson Tada to countless everyday men, women and children, the words of the Bible have transformed lives unmistakably and forever. “As unnamed masses of Christians down through the ages have shown us, the Bible is the most reliable place to turn for finding the key to a life of love and good works.” T.M. Moore, The Case for the Bible.

This is a word that I brought at The Well on Dec 10th. I hope it will bless and encourage you!!

What does it mean to be the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus? It simply means that when God looks at us, He sees us through Jesus Christ and His finished work of the cross. We are completely accepted by God and are clothed with Jesus robes of righteousness.

What are some things that we can expect from God when we choose to believe and accept His son, Jesus? The Word says, “WE ARE the righteousness of God IN Christ.” 2 Corinthians 5:21 God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

Let’s take a look at a few of those promises in Proverbs 10. V 3 The Lord does not let the righteous go hungry… That any any lack of needful or desirable elements.

V6 Blessings crown the head of the righteous… What struck me so profoundly here, is that we are NOT crowned with curses but BLESSING!! Blessing simply means that we are ALREADY granted happiness, health and prosperity; endowed with a talent, beauty and protected against evil or harm.

V7 The memory of the righteous will be a blessing… How often do we relish the memory of those who have walked with God? The memory our lives are recorded in Heaven forever because our names are written in the Lambs book of life FOREVER.

V11 The mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life.. V20 The tongue of the righteous is choice silver… V21 The lips of the righteous nourish many…. V31 The mouth of the righteous brings forth wisdom.. V32 The lips of the righteous know what is fitting… When we think about the LIVING God abiding within us, He is our reservoir, supply chamber, principal source and origin of ALL life. We have the power to release His life, every time we pray, speak, or sing!!

V16 The wages of the righteous bring them life… V22 The blessing of the Lord brings wealth and He adds no trouble to it. V24 What the righteous desire will be granted. The recompense, return, and yield of all our labors, brings prosperity that is valuable and abundant. There is no lack in the Kingdom of God.

V25 The righteous stand firm forever… That simply means, through HIS strength, we are not soft or yielding when pressed; we are settled and securely fixed in His grace. We are steady, steadfast and unwavering in His love.

V28 The prospect of the righteous is joy… Joy is the emotion of great delight or happiness caused by something exceptionally good or satisfying that brings pleasure or elation. That’s because our hope and expectation is in the Lord who delivers our advancement and success. We can expect and anticipate ONLY good things that He has in store for us.

V29 The way of the Lord is a refuge for the righteous… God’s characteristic and habitual manner is to ALWAYS protect and guide us in the concerns of our life. He is ALWAYS with us. He will NEVER forsake us.

V30 The righteous will never be uprooted… God will not remove violently or tear you away from the place where you have been fixed, planted and deeply established. If He desires to reestablish you in another place, His grace, peace and provision will be upon it.

This is the truth of the living Word of God. Read, reread and let the transforming power of His truth revolutionize your life….from the inside out.
